Volunteer Spirit At IU Simon Cancer Center

Volunteer

IU Simon Cancer Center is a place where recovery and comfort comes not only from medical intervention, but also from the differences our volunteers make in the lives of our patients and visitors.

At IU Simon Cancer Center the philosophy of Volunteer Services is to maintain a culture of service in which volunteers work collaboratively with physicians, faculty and staff to positively impact patient and visitor experiences.

Our volunteers represent a diverse cross section of the population within our facilities including cancer survivors and those serving in memory of their loved ones who bravely fought cancer, working professionals from our local community, and students aspiring to become working professionals within a cancer care or a health care setting.

Our volunteers are caring, compassionate individuals who are sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of our patients and visitors.  Our volunteers embody the same professionalism and motivation as that of our world-renowned staff.
